Fredericktown, Mo. (KFMO) - The City of Fredericktown has located a replacement transformer for the Downtown Substation. The transformer, found several hours away, is now en route to Fredericktown and will be installed as soon as it arrives.
Electric crews are actively preparing for the arrival of heavy equipment, including a crane, to facilitate the removal and replacement of the damaged transformer. City officials estimate it will take several hours to complete these tasks. Residents are advised to prepare for the power outage to extend overnight into Thursday morning.
For those affected, a warming center remains open at the Fredericktown Police Department. However, city officials note that medical services are not available at this location.
Updates will be provided as progress continues on restoring power to the area.
