Carthage Celebration Honors Officer Lane Burns

(Carthage, MO) A celebration to honor Bonne Terre Officer Lane Burns will be held in his home town of Carthage this weekend. Burns was killed in the line of duty while he and his partner, Officer Garrett Worley, were answering a disturbance call at a Bonne Terre Motel in March of 2022. Bonne Terre Police Chief, Doug Calvert, says Burns and Worley, are the kind of officers the department, and the community, can be proud of.

The event, called the Lane Burns 306 Tribute, begins at noon Saturday and features live music, food trucks, face painting for the kids, and more. It takes place at Carthage Central Park. 306 was Burns' badge number.
