Car Burglarized During Marriage Ceremony

(Jefferson County, MO) Detectives with the Jefferson County Sheriff's office are investigating a burglary that took place during a wedding ceremony at the Sandy Creek Covered Bridge Historic Site May 28th. Reports indicate Daniel and Dianna Sikes were in the middle of their wedding when someone broke two passenger side windows out of the couple's vehicle. A Public Safety Information Coordinator for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Grant Bissell, says the person or persons responsible stole numerous items including a handgun, purses, a wallet, credit cards, personal documents, checkbooks, and prescription medications. The park has surveillance camera but it was not working at the time. Bissell says they recommend you place any valuables in the trunk of your car if leaving your vehicle unattended.
