Bonne Terre Officer Burns Honored

(Bonne Terre, MO) Members of the family of Bonne Terre Police Officer Layne Burns, along officers from the department, will attend ceremonies to induct Burns into state and national Law enforcement memorials. Bonne Terre Chief of Police, Doug Calvert, says the state ceremony is in Jefferson City May 5th and 6th.

According to Calvert they will also make the trip to Washington DC for the induction ceremony. The Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce donated $8,000 to help Burn's family, and members of the Bonne Terre Police Department, attend the ceremonies. Burns was killed in the line of duty March 17th of 2022 while answering a disturbance call.
