Blood Has Short Shelf Life

(St. Louis, MO) Red Cross officials want you to know blood has a short shelf life. An Account Manager and Donor Recruitment Specialist with the Red Cross, Mindy Hendrix, says they have 40% fewer donors now than just a few years ago, and with blood's relative short life, more people are needed to help donate.

There are several blood drives coming up in the Parkland including a drive on the 18th at the Parkland Chapel in Farmington, another on the 23rd in Desloge at the Lincoln Street Event Center, and another May 1st with Parkland Health Center at Farmington High School.
