Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - A black bear was spotted in the Park Hills area Monday morning.
Authorities were alerted that the bear was near Parkway Drive and Highway 67. Images on social media show that the bear was seen crossing the highway. The Park Hills Police Department, St. Francois County Sheriff's Department and the Missouri Department of Conservation worked to locate the bear. Deputies with the sheriff's department used a drone to see if they could spot the bear in the woods.
For your safety, the Conservation Department says if you see the bear, go inside immediately. Do not attempt to approach or engage with the bear. Allow conservation officers to manage the situation.
Authorities sent out an alert Monday afternoon saying that the bear had moved northward and was seen near the Desloge exit.
