Mike Kehoe Sworn In as 58th Governor of Missouri

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - On Monday, a new era of leadership began in Missouri as Mike Kehoe was sworn in as the 58th Governor during a ceremony at the Missouri State Capitol.

Governor Kehoe, whose career spans public service, business, and agriculture, pledged to honor the state’s traditions while addressing critical priorities such as public safety, education, economic development, and agriculture. Kehoe shared his vision of unity and growth for Missouri, emphasizing the importance of collaboration.

“My life—growing up in the inner city, moving to a small town, building businesses, operating a ranch—these experiences have taught me one thing: Missourians are more alike than we are different,” Kehoe said. “It will take each of us, working together, to secure an even safer, stronger, and more prosperous Missouri.”

The oath of office was administered by former U.S. Senator Roy Blunt. Kehoe used a Bible belonging to his late mother, Lorraine Kehoe, adding a personal touch to the historic occasion.

Several other state officials were also inaugurated during the ceremony:

Lieutenant Governor David Wasinger – Sworn in by Missouri Supreme Court Chief Justice Mary Rhodes Russell

Secretary of State Denny Hoskins – Sworn in by Judge Thomas N. Chapman of the 43rd Judicial Circuit

State Treasurer Vivek Malek – Sworn in by Judge Thomas C. Clark II of the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District

Attorney General Andrew Bailey – Sworn in by Missouri Supreme Court Judge Kelly Broniec

The event featured a patriotic performance of the National Anthem by St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officer Eva Millar-Galván and an invocation by the Most Reverend W. Shawn McKnight, Bishop of Jefferson City. Following the swearing-in, attendees witnessed a 19-gun salute and a flyover of military aircraft. The ceremony concluded with music from the 135th Army Band and a benediction by Reverend John Miles, Senior Pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church in Kansas City.

Governor Kehoe’s inaugural address and the day’s events underscored a commitment to the people of Missouri and a united approach to the challenges and opportunities ahead.
